Salamanca is the university city by excellence, known worldwide for it and for its artistic richness: cathedrals, palaces, churches ... of artistic styles such as Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque Plateresque.
Located on the banks of the river Tormes, its geographical extent is 12,336 square kilometers and has now has 159,000 inhabitants.

A walk through the old town you will discover the monuments of different architectural styles. Religious and civic buildings constructed with the known Villamayor stone: sandstone provides a golden color and a special personality to buildings.
The artistic heritage of the city is concentrated within the old medieval wall, which still has several sections. This allows the route through the old town is very convenient to carry, as the visitor can walk all routes.
